Our approach is inspired by Mel Disselkoen’s OTS method—working with the bees’ natural queen-rearing instincts to develop hardy, locally adapted colonies, with survival and health as the measure of success.

Blakemore’s Bees is a family-run Louisiana apiary led by Matt Blakemore—Army veteran, youth football coach, business owner, and beekeeper.
Our annual aim is intentionally clear: raise quality NUCs headed by locally adapted queens and harvest local raw honey from healthy, chemical-free bee hives—keeping colony survival and health at the center of every choice.
